Frequently Asked Questions

How Long is the Session?

Happy people make pretty pictures.  Your photo session will be a relaxed, fun event specially designed to capture your personality and  a variety of poses and settings.  A full-length photo session usually lasts 1-2 hours.

Where will the Session Be Held?

There are several beautiful sites in the Rocky Mount area that include both urban and rural opportunities.  Most sessions are held at a single location.  Let the photographer know if you have a location or style in mind.  Travel fees apply to sessions held outside of Nash and Edgecombe Counties.

How Many People Are Included?

A normal session is perfect for 1-5 people.  If more than 6 people will be involved additional time and/or charges may apply.

How Much Do you Charge?

Please contact the photographer for detailed pricing including discount packages and specialty products and custom packages.  A non-refundable session deposit of $50 is required to reserve a date.  This deposit includes a small print package, or it can be applied to orders of $100 or more.  Click here for a list of individual package and print prices.

How Do I Schedule a Session?

Contact Kathy (KJ) Bradley at 252-813-3171 or kjbradleyphoto@gmail.com to reserve your session.  Weekends often book early so schedule in advance if possible.

What if I have to Cancel?

Due to demand for limited sessions, reservation deposits are not refundable.  If the photographer is able to re-book the time with another client, your deposit may be transferred to another session.  Sessions may be cancelled due to weather conditions at the photographer's discretion.  In the event of a weather cancellation, every effort will be made to reschedule within 60 days.  If that is not possible, your deposit will be returned to you.

When and How Will I Be Able to See My Pictures?

If permitted, the photographer will post sneak peeks of your session on facebook as soon as possible.  Then your photos will be presented for 30 days in a password protected online gallery.  Gallery proofs are usually up within a week but can take up to 3 weeks depending on the season.  My goal is to present the final products within a month of the time photos are chosen by clients, but they are often available earlier (excluding shipping delays).

How Many Pictures Do You Take?

Clients are usually presented with 30-80 proofs.  The goal is to have at least 20 photos you love for your prints and/or DVD.

How is a Mini Session Different from a Full Session?

Mini sessions are offered periodically.  They are 30 minute sessions and do not offer the relaxed full experience.  The goal of a mini session is to capture 3-5 great pictures in a single setting.  These are usually less expensive because several clients will be scheduled in the same location on the same day (back to back sessions).

What Should I Wear?

For most photos your clothing should reflect your natural style.  Consider deep solids and complimentary tones.   If more than one person will be photographed at the same time, be sure to coordinate both in color and style.  Matching is not essential for beautiful photographs.  In general, avoid reds, plaids, and busy patterns unless they are essential to showing your personality.  Consider where your photos will be displayed.  Do you need a more formal picture or will casual work?  I have created a What to Wear Pinterest Board with ideas to browse.  If you are not on Pinterest, here is a great guide from Koren Reyes that will help you decide what to wear http://www.facesinphotos.com/family-photography/what-to-wear.html.

Can I Get Digital Copies?
Yes.  All print packages include limited digital images for archival purposes.  A DVD of print ready digital images is also available in a digital package.   A facebook timeline picture and 30 day slideshow of selected photos included with all purchases of $100 or more by request.

What is a Referral Coupon?

When you refer a friend who books and completes a photo session, you will receive a referral coupon for a discount on your next purchase within 12 months.  There is no limit on the number of coupons a family can earn so refer away!

What Does A Newborn Session Include?

Newborn sessions are the most precious and most complicated of all photo shoots.  First and foremost great care is taken to insure that mom and baby are safe and relaxed.  Because newborns have their own schedules, these sessions often take 3 hours.  During a typical newborn session, I will try to capture some sleepy baby shots, eyes wide open shots, and tender moments with the family.  If newborns need to eat, we stop to eat.  For the safety of the baby, at least 2 adults need to be present in addition to the photographer.  A large window with natural light is a must.  The photographer will provide a space heater to keep the baby warm as well as blankets and posing elements.  Special hats and props can be incorporated if provided by the client.

What is that Fish in Your Logo?

The fish in my logo is one sign used to represent Jesus Christ.  I use it because it is my hope that this business will be used to glorify God in all ways.  I believe we should all use our God-given talents for good.  If you know of a special situation where photography services could be helpful (a family who has lost a job, a fire, etc.), please let me know in a discreet way so that I may consider ways to help.
